Have you often been told you have a green thumb? Know someone who is able to plant a star picket and simply watch it grow? Well, the Gympie Home Garden competition is searching for you! Totalling $1400 in prize money, this event offers you a chance to get some cash returns for your ongoing dedication in the garden. Not to mention all the beauty, produce and fitness a home garden also brings!
The competition offers five categories for garden enthusiasts with each section offering $200 for first prize, $100 for second and $50 third place.
“Town” includes all gardens which are ‘under an acre’, even if you live in a rural town.
You mightn’t have won a prize in this home garden competition, which enables you to enter the “Novice” section.
For those with an expansive garden, try the “Country” section, which includes gardens ‘over an acre’.
A special section is offered for “Over 75’s” to encourage those with honed skills that work tirelessly on their special patch. We have a lot we can learn from this expertise.
Schools are also invited to showcase their working gardens to the community. Each garden may only enter one category in the competition. Winners also go in the running for the Overall Champion garden to receive $250 in cash.
A beautiful garden means many things to different people. Perhaps your lovingly gathered variety of plants could provide inspiration to others? If you are interested in participating you can contact Henry on 5486 7242, email firstname.lastname@example.org for an entry form, or go to http://www.gympiegardenexpo.com.au
A very special thanks goes to the Home Garden competition sponsors: Gympie Regional Council, Katek Fertilisers, Gympie Regional Realty, Gympie Horticulture Society and Sauers Produce for their valued support of the competition.
