Vintage cars join expo

Historic automobiles will add some old world flavor to the Gympie Garden Expo this year. Join some real enthusiasts from the Gympie Historic Auto Club as they share their passion for style, glamour and all things car.
The two day garden event focuses on gardening in the community as a sustainable lifestyle. This year, the group has widened their appeal to include an Art competition, Kids potplant competition along with featured talks on permaculture. Getting to sit in the back of an A-model Ford or EH Holden only adds more interest to an expo brimming with great ways to spend your weekend.
The Gympie Historic Auto Club was formed in 1967 to foster the preservation and restoration of vehicles which are more than 30 years old. They hold annual swap meets and a car show where like minded people can explore design and mechanics of a bygone era. You can catch up with members on the day as you enjoy the expo’s offerings.
The Gympie Garden Expo opens Saturday May 3 at 8am. It continues over the weekend with guest speakers, plant clinics, delightful plant displays by the Horticultural and Orchid Societies all set amongst a host of interesting markets. It’s just $5 entry with kids free. Find out more at
